BRITISH SUPERBIKE

The British Superbike Championship (BSB) is the premier motorcycle racing championship in the United Kingdom. It consists of a series of races held at various circuits across the country between April and October each year. The BSB features a mix of British and international riders, competing on high-performance motorcycles from manufacturers such as Ducati, Yamaha, BMW, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Honda. The championship is known for its close racing and high level of competition and is made up of several classes, including Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock. The Superbike class is the main event, featuring the fastest and most powerful motorcycles in the championship. Superbike races are typically held over a distance of around 30-40 laps, with riders reaching speeds of over 200 mph on the straights.

The British Superbike Championship (BSB) features a range of high-performance motorcycles from various manufacturers. The main class, Superbike, features motorcycles with a maximum engine displacement of 1000cc, and these bikes are tuned to produce over 200 horsepower.

The Supersport class features smaller-displacement bikes that are designed for both speed and agility and the Superstock class features production-based motorcycles that are modified to meet specific racing requirements.

The British Superbike Championship is a series of superbike races held over twelve rounds from April to October, with the final three rounds comprising the Showdown. During the Showdown, the top six riders from the previous nine rounds are awarded points based on their podium finishes, and they compete in seven races over the final three rounds to determine the champion. This format was introduced in 2010 to prevent any rider from dominating the championship and to make the competition more exciting for fans.

The BSB includes the National Superstock 1000 Championship and the National Superstock 600 Championship, both of which feature production-based motorcycles that are modified to meet specific racing requirements. These classes provide an opportunity for riders to compete on a more level playing field, with bikes that are closer to their stock counterparts. Finally, the BSB includes the British Motostar Championship, which features up-and-coming riders competing on smaller-displacement motorcycles. This class provides a platform for young riders to gain experience and develop their skills as they work towards the ultimate goal of competing in the Superbike race.

The British Superbike Championship (BSB) was founded in 1988, and its inaugural season consisted of six rounds with races held at circuits across the UK. The championship has since grown in popularity and stature, becoming one of the most prestigious national superbike championships in the world.
