RALLY CROSS
Pick a category to know about the particular category
Rallycross is multiple cars racing on a closed mixed-surface racing circuit featuring modified production or custom-made road cars, akin to World Rally Cars.
It combines rallying and circuit racing with head-to-head short, sharp races held in amphitheater venues on mixed surfaces (dirt and asphalt).
Rally cross was conceived by Robert Reed, a producer on ITV's World of Sport, who devised a series of short, snappy, and entertaining races designed explicitly for television.
There are two major international rallycross series that exist presently. The Red Bull Global Rallycross is based in the United States and attracts an international field of drivers.
The FIA World Rallycross Championship, in which European drivers dominate, and its 12 events are held in nations worldwide, including Latvia, Canada, and South Africa.
