RX2E

RX2e

RX2e is the first-ever FIA electric rallycross series, sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile.

RX2e, a joint venture between Spanish electromobility specialist QEV Technologies and Swedish rallycross powerhouse Olsbergs MSE, aims to provide prospective rallycross players. The arrive-and-drive idea is designed to educate drivers and their support crew about electric technology while also providing a level playing field. One of the RX2e's main features is the emphasis on driving ability in the single-spec series, with driver talent and ingenuity taking precedence.

A pair of motors and inverters transmit power evenly to the front and back wheels, which are cooled to prevent overheating. The 30kWh battery is situated next to the driver in the car's centre to provide optimal 50/50 weight distribution.

The motor offers a torque output of up to 510Nm and a power output of 250kW (335bhp).

In a first for rallycross, drivers will be able to experiment with three critical factors before and between races, adding an added layer of expertise to the mix.

The event schedule for the FIA RX2e Championship is based on the FIA World Rallycross Championship schedule, with specific timetables provided before each race. Practice sessions, four qualifying rounds, two semi-finals, and the final will be held at each event.
