NASCAR-TRUCK UPDATES & EXPERT ANALYSIS
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series now consists of 36 events held at 22 different race tracks. 34 of those races feature left turns on ovals or D-shaped race tracks. Two races are held on road courses.
The NASCAR tracks range in size from 2.66 miles at Talladega Superspeedway to.526 miles at Martinsville Speedway.
A short track is defined as a less than the one-mile-long racetrack. A Superspeedway is a racetrack with a length of more than 2 miles. Intermediate NASCAR racetracks are those that fall between these two lengths. The banking on the turn is another feature that distinguishes each racetrack.
